Guiseppe Ratti began in the early 1900s, in Turin. Starting out as a mere Optician, with Berry Opticians he was known for goggles. It wasn't until the 0649 was introduced for trolley operators to protect their eyes against dust and sunlight whilst working that Persol gained some recognition. Mastroianni really launched Persol into the annals of eyewear history by wearing the 0649 in the film La Dolce Vita. Later, Persol would be seen on faces like Bruce Lee, Jane Fonda, George Clooney, and Daniel Craig to name a few.
