Glass Lenses

The Index of Refraction is how opticians measure light dispersion and how light travels through a material or medium. Glass has a level of refraction measuring at ~1.52 diopters, offering a high level of protection from harmful sunlight. Although, the various plastics available for lenses offer a protective quality slightly less than that of glass, glass is obviously a prime choice for factors of light harm. With this protection, vision is somewhat enhanced because the eyes are able to relax offering higher visual acuity.  In addition to the level of protection, the aesthetic of glass offers a certain vibrancy with the colors of tint offered in lens selection.
