Gentleman, Valentine's Day is here. You are busy. The Lakers game really ate into your Sunday.  We know you really love your gal and she deserves the best, but like us, you don't have time to do battle on the streets of LA. Not to worry good man, we found you a single destination where you can pick up everything you need to keep her smiling.  Behold the Brentwood Country Mart.  The One-Stop Shop. You're welcome.

Located in a posh enclave of Santa Monica, The Brentwood Country Mart is a quiet little slice of Americana. The quaint, red-barn landmark was built in 1948, and quickly became a magnet for the Los Angeles elite and Hollywood royalty.  Mitchum, Crawford, and Fonda shopped there. Gregory Peck had been known to ride his horse to the post-office from time to time. But this is no longer your grandfather's mart. Renovated and revitalized in 2003 by developer James Rosenfield, this gem now houses some of the trendiest and well-sourced boutiques and eateries in the country.

If you are looking to get her the most unique flowers, cards, jewelry, chocolates and bubbly, then this is the place.  Indulge her with the sexy pair of purple Guise sunglasses she has been talking about. You can even eat one of LA's tastiest tacos before treating yourself to a trim at the barbershop.  But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Focus, this is about her.  Let's start with the essentials.

Girls just wanna have fun. They also want a pink opal and diamond Caleo ring or a Zobel cuff from Broken English. Everything in this store will make your Valentine's jaw drop. Owner Laura Freedman curates a stunning collection of  unique, hand-made, and often one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry. Like Freedman herself, the collection is well thought out yet organic, subtle yet sexy. This indie boutique features "something for everyone, from the ancient to the avant garde". Each piece is an object of art, an object of desire. Trust us, you would be wise to learn to speak Broken English, the language of love.

Nothing is more loving than a gift that keeps giving.  Especially if that gift is a sexy pair of sunglasses from Selima et Benjamin.  This trend-setting eyewear boutique is a collaboration between NYC eyewear goddess Selima Saluan and The Guise Archives very own Benjamin Montoya.  The result is a store full of beautiful, handmade, high-quality sunglasses that would make a perfect gift for both you and your sweetheart. Choose from Selima Optique amazing styles, Benjamin Eyewear's  red-hot designs, or a hard to find pair of vintage frames.  Surprise her with a colorful pair of  Guise by Benjamin Molly sunglasses on Valentines's day. You know she wants them.

Chocolate. The ultimate indulgence. If your sweetheart has a sweet tooth , then Edelweiss Candy Kitchen is a must stop. One of the oldest brands in the Mart, Edelweiss have been fulfilling the cravings of Angelenos for almost 70 years.  Lucille Ball got the idea for one of her most famous skits from the watching the conveyor belt at the Beverly Hills location.  The recipes and packaging are old-school, but the tastes are timeless and delicious. This is not the heart shaped box of stale candy you get at the drugstore. This is gourmet candy, old Hollywood style. You can pick from a selection of all things sweet, but one of our favorites is the chocolate covered cherries. Yum.

Are you looking for a proper way to let your Valentine know how much she really means to you? Tell her you love her by writing it down on a adorable card from Sugar Paper. This boutique stationery shop can be your secret weapon.  Known as the "Connoisseurs of Correspondence", the ladies at Sugar Paper have done all the work for you, stocking some of the most unique and cutest cards you can hope to find in L.A. The custom-designed cards come with amazing artwork and clever little sayings, all printed  on the highest quality card stock.  Listen to your mother and don't forget the card.

Do you smell that? That is the smell of success. You have navigated all the other shops at the Brentwood Country Mart, and your mission to find the best treats for your Honey is almost complete.  Time for the feather in your cap. The flowers. Wander into Stephanie Schur's amazing floral shop Botany, and your knees go wobbly.  Whether it is from the boutiques striking beauty, the buzz of artistic energy oozing from the shop girls, or the intoxicating aroma of  the fresh cut flowers, we are in love. Your girl will be in love as well.  Botany stocks only the most stunning and unique flowers in town, sourcing both locally and from abroad.  "Sometimes guys come in and say 'just make me something beautiful", says Sachi Pollard, one of Botany's talented floral arrangers. And make it beautiful they do. Unfortunately, you don't have time to order one of their drop-dead gorgeous bouquets for Valentine's Day, but if all goes well you can come back for her anniversary present. In the meantime, you can choose from their exotic, a la carte collection of fresh-cut flowers like the pink roses, purple anemones and white fringed tulips. While there, you can also browse for fragrant candles and other wonderful housewares she is sure to love. This place is special, a true treasure.

Now get in your car and head straight for the Brentwood Country Mart on the corner of 26th Street and San Vincente in Santa Monica.  You will thank us. So will your Valentine. Good luck.
